Memorial for Tony Daleo

Anthony "Tony" Richard Daleo, 84, passed away on December 24, 2005 at his home in the community of Spring Valley Lake near Victorville, California.
Tony was born in Los Angeles and was a lifelong resident of California. He was a retired chief warrant officer for the U.S. Army, a member of the American Legion Star Post 263 and a member of the B.P.O. Elks for 55 years. |
Tony was active in law enforcement until his retirement as detective sergeant from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, where he worked for 18 years. He also worked for the State Campus Police for 5 years and was a driving force in getting a State University Police. Another of Tony's accomplishments was starting the Wuzz Fuzz organization in California's High Desert. He also received the 1996 Sheriff's Medal of Meritorious Service.
Tony joined the International Footprint Association with the Los Angeles Chapter on May 30, 1957. When he and his wife, Tina, moved to the High Desert in 1984, he founded Chapter 63 of the International Footprint Association. He was the secretary and treasurer of the chapter for many years. He also served as the Footprinter's Grand President for the 1994/1995 year and served many years as Membership Chairman for the national. Tony also started a half a dozen chapters in the International Footprinters during his time as Chairman. About two years ago the Chapter 63 Board of Directors changed the name of the chapter to "Victor Valley Tony Daleo Chapter 63." Tony was also the Footprinter of the year in 2000. |
Tony is survived by his wife, Athena "Tina" Daleo of Spring Valley Lake; sons Thomas Daleo and his wife, Victoria, of Diamond Bar, and Gary Daleo and his wife, Diane, of Walnut; four grand children, Mark Daleo of Diamond Bar, Kem Sizoo of Chino Hills, Dina Daleo Ph.D. of Pasadena and Stephanie Daleo of Walnut; and three great-grandchildren, Noah Daleo and Anthony and Blake Sizoo.
